This Lightweight Stockinette is a 100% cotton continuous tubular open-ended netting material designed to enable the easier fitting of your cushions. It will also reduce friction between the outer cover and the cushion interior, which increases the lifespan of the outer cover and helps prevent creasing as it allows the cover to return easily to its original position after use. When using for a cushion cover make sure to allow at least double the length of the cushion eg: if your cushion is 1 metre long, order 2 metres of stockinette to suit. This particular 450mm size will generally stretch to a wider cushions of 900mm-1000mm depth. Originally developed as "Cheesecloth" for cheesemaking its highly stretchy and absorbent properties also mean it is commonly used for cleaning and polishing applications. It has a number of other uses including: bean bag liners, meat bags (camel, mutton, beef, pork), clothing, cleaning cloths, rags, medical use (compression bandages) and in various surgical applications.
